END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
RACE Insight – Software License
Effective Date: December 26, 2025
1. AGREEMENT OVERVIEW
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between APEX Race Technologies ("Developer") and you ("User") regarding your use of the RACE Insight software application ("Software").
By downloading, installing, or using RACE Insight, you agree to be bound by all terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
1.1 About RACE Insight
RACE Insight is a professional-grade motorsports data analysis application that allows users to:
- Import and visualize race car data from multiple file formats
- Analyze lap times, sector performance, and vehicle parameters
- Compare data across multiple sessions and runs
- Export reports and analyzed data in multiple formats (CSV, JSON, PDF)
1.2 Current Status: Beta
The Software is currently in BETA (free) phase. This means:
- The Software is fully functional for data analysis
- Some features (AI Insights, cloud sync) may be in development or disabled
- There may be bugs or performance issues
- Beta phase expires June 30, 2026
- Beta is completely free with no payment required
2. LICENSE GRANT AND RESTRICTIONS
2.1 Limited License
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, Developer grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install RACE Insight on your personal computer(s)
- Use the Software for your personal, non-commercial motorsports data analysis
- Store and analyze your own racing data locally on your device
2.2 What You Cannot Do
You may not:
- Distribute, sell, rent, lease, or share the Software with others
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the Software
- Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or license notices
- Use the Software for commercial purposes without written permission
- Sub-license or authorize third parties to use the Software
- Use the Software to develop competing products
2.3 Permitted Use
You may:
- Use RACE Insight for personal motorsports data analysis
- Import and analyze racing data from your own vehicles
- Share exported reports and data files with your team or collaborators
- Use exported data for any purpose (exported data is yours)
3. AUTHENTICATION AND ACCOUNT REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Google Sign-In Required
To use RACE Insight in the production version, you must:
- Have a Google account
- Sign in with your Google credentials (Google Sign-In)
- Accept Google's privacy and terms of service
Skip login is not available in production builds. Google Sign-In is required to access the Software.
3.2 What Happens During Sign-In
When you sign in with Google, we collect your Firebase UID, email address, and display name. This data is stored only by Google/Firebase, not on our servers. See Privacy Policy Section 2 for details.
3.3 Your Account Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your Google account credentials secure
- Protecting your email and account information
- Notifying us if your account is compromised
- All activity under your account
4. DATA STORAGE AND PRIVACY
4.1 Local-Only Storage
RACE Insight stores all your data locally on your device:
- Your project files and analysis remain on your computer
- We do not upload your racing data to our servers
- We do not back up your files to the cloud
- You maintain complete control of your files
File metadata (file type, file size) is tracked via PostHog analytics. Your actual file data is never sent to us.
4.2 Supported File Formats
RACE Insight can import and analyze racing data in these formats:
- iRacing (.ibt)
- AiM (.xrk, .drk)
- MoTeC (.ld, .ldx)
- CSV (Generic)
- Autosport Labs (.log)
- RaceLogic VBOX (.vbo)
- Under Development: ECUMaster (.adulog), Race Technology (.run), MegaLogViewer (.mlg)
File Size Limit: Maximum 250MB per file. The Software may warn for files larger than 1GB but will attempt processing.
4.3 Data Processing
When you import a racing data file, the Software parses the file locally (backend processes on your machine), analyzes the data (lap detection, sector times, calculations), displays results in the user interface, and never sends the file contents to our servers.
4.4 Exported Data
When you export data (CSV, JSON, PDF), exported files are yours to keep and use. You own all exported data and reports, you can share and use exported data however you want, and you may use exported data for commercial purposes.
5. ANALYTICS AND DATA COLLECTION
5.1 Automatic Event Tracking
The Software collects anonymous usage data via PostHog to improve the application. Tracked events include: when you launch the app, when you sign in/out, when you import files, when you use features, and when errors occur.
What is not tracked: your racing data files, your analysis results, your personal information (unless you sign in), session recordings (disabled), and automatic click tracking (disabled).
5.2 Opting Out of Analytics
You can disable all analytics at any time:
- Open RACE Insight
- Go to Settings > Analytics & Privacy
- Toggle "Disable Analytics & Tracking"
Disabling analytics will stop PostHog event tracking, but Firebase may still log authentication events separately.
5.3 PostHog Configuration
PostHog is configured with session recording disabled, autocapture disabled (manual event tracking only), and default retention of 30 days.
See Privacy Policy Section 5.1 for details about PostHog.
6. FEATURES AND LIMITATIONS
6.1 Current Features (Beta)
The following features are fully functional:
- Import racing data files (drag & drop or file browser)
- Visualize data on interactive charts and graphs
- Compare lap times and sector performance
- View circuit maps with GPS racing lines
- Export reports and data (CSV, JSON, PDF)
- Professional widgets (speed, RPM, tyre monitoring, G-forces)
- Session management and filtering
6.2 In-Development Features
The following features are planned or in development:
- AI Insights (AI-powered performance analysis) - status: under development
- Cloud Sync (cross-device synchronization) - status: not implemented

- WiFi/Logger integration is simulated (not yet functional)
- Some file formats may have parsing limitations
- Performance may degrade with files larger than 1GB
6.4 Offline Capability
RACE Insight works mostly offline:
- File import and analysis work offline (after initial sign-in)
- Data visualization works offline
- First-time sign-in requires internet (Google authentication)
- Map tiles (Mapbox/OpenStreetMap) require internet
- PostHog events are queued locally if offline, sent when online
